Anna Page
“Songs to make you weep and dance at the same time. Superb” (Record Collector
Single Of The Month review). Anna’s musical career began in 1996, as founder and
singer/songwriter for all-girl band Deluxor. Their first four-song tape won Demo
Of The Month in Making Music Magazine and first and only single, Ecstasy was
also Single Of The Month in Record Collector Magazine. After the band split, she
co-wrote and recorded tracks with producer Paul Sampson, of The Primitives and
Catatonia production fame, before embarking on a solo career, playing venues
like The Cobden Club, The 12 Bar, The Kashmir Klub and The Metro, where she
supported Steve Diggle, The Libertines, Adam Green and Johnny Borell amongst
others. She has also played at The Lost And Found in San Francisco and The
Sidewalk and The Raven amongst other NY venues, and in various Paris bars.
Recently, she has played as The Anna Page Band at The Borderline, and at Alan
McGees club, Death Disco, and he has played her demo Addicted on his Radio One
show a number of times. She also plays acoustic shows and runs a songwriters’
night once a month at The Boogaloo in Highgate, recently dubbed the most Rock n
Roll pub in London by Time Out. She is a part-time burlesque model, and has
appeared in The White Stripes and Mick Jagger pop videos, on BBC and Channel 4
as a dancer and actress, as well as performing her own songs live on digital
TVs’ Where It’s At. Anna also studied art and has a degree in Philosophy and
Literature, so she put on a one-woman exhibition in 2001 on St Martins Lane
entitled How The Universe Works (The Answer To Everything), for which she was
dubbed ‘The Shining Child Of the Revelation Revolution’ in The West End Extra.

Sweet Black Angels
Sweet Black Angels: Born out of frustration at the so called “English music
scene” and the music industry in general, geared more towards manufactured
boy/girl groups with low overheads and fast cash returns. With less chance of
recognitions for true musicians and songwriters, the band felt compelled to try
and re-establish what this country used to be famed for.
We are five friends who came together to make music that we believe in, that
we could share with others and maybe open their eyes to a different way of
living or question the things we are led to believe. We sing about social issues
such as jealousy, judgement, boredom and how in the big scheme of things, money,
work and materialistic things just aren’t that important.
Without sacrificing good melody for coolness, we want to reach as many people
as possible and help them realise that you don’t have to get caught up in the
system and that you can achieve what you believe in.
We want to bring it to the attention of the world that nothing is written in
stone, that no-one should govern the path you follow, that life should be full
of venture and looked back upon with fulfilment and not regret…

Don’t be disturbed…

The Melon Thieves
The Melon Thieves have been around since 1997 in one form or another, now
we’re back with the original singer and lead guitarist and now line up with Tim
on lead vocals and lead guitar, Nick on lead guitar and backing vocals, Jamie on
bass and rhythm guitar and “H” on drums. Our basic style is good old fashioned
rock with punk attitude, original punk that is not the “New Punk”, playing
mainly our own stuff but also some covers from bands like The Clash, The
Levellers, New Model Army, Stiff Little Fingers to name but a few.
The Prospects
The Prospects started two and a half years ago and were formed by the drummer
Rich. Although Rich assembled the band they all take equal roles and
responsibilities.
The band play a large range of rock covers such as Red Hot Chillli Peppers,
Electric Six, Motorhead, Free, The White Stripes, Oasis and Franz Ferdinand.
They have also penned lots of their own songs which all vary in the style and
are very popular at their gigs. they have had many gigs over the last few years,
both public venues and at private parties. They have achieved first place twice
and second place once in the Battle of the bands Competition.
Reckless Princess
Local female singer/songwriter, combining alternative/acoustic/folk/jazz.
Mix of originals and covers. With support from other local musicians.
Beerd
BEERD were formed in the late part of 2002. There were only three members to
start with who were Jake, Alex and Tom H. They played a few things here and
there at School but when fourth member Tom P joined about a three months later
the Beerd line-up was complete. Their mission is to bring back the best type of
music: hard rock, into the mainstream like Britain’s glory days in the 60’s,
70’s and 80’s.
Beerd already have a few songs available online (www.myspace.com/beerd1) and
have recorded an E.P. called Tyrannosaurus Sex. The whole E.P. will be available
online soon enough but also on the way is the new debut album called Blood,
Sweat and Beerd.
Sounds like: A kind of modern Thin Lizzy………

If you want to know more about Beerd, visit their website at www.beerd.co.uk
or their myspace site mentioned above.
