Civilian were formed three years ago when Adam Moseley remarked to his friends how amazing it would be to create one of the best bands in Britain.
At the time there was only one problem none of them could play an instrument. Undeterred, the gauntlet was taken up, and with little equipment
and no immediate spark, the group locked themselves away in an attic and began to work hard. Inspired by their love of the Verve and the Stone Roses,
songs began to take shape that reflected their influences yet never imitated them. After a while they found a drummer and two years ago began to play
gigs, starting in tiny venues and building their confidence until they felt they could branch out into a wider sphere. Surprised by the quality of the
material they were coming up with, and the positive reaction to it, the Horsham (Sussex)-based group decided Civilian was a suitable name for the
band showing that though it is easy to keep your head down and be content to blend in with the crowd, when you make the effort to search inside you
can find abilities that make you shine. We at Isolation Records spotted Civilian playing in a Brighton venue when we had gone to look at another
band. Impressed by Adam's incredible voice lifting over soaring and crashing guitars, we were desperate to hear more and were delighted to finally sign
the band to our label a couple of months later. Civilian released their debut 4-track  'December EP' on Isolation in December 2006 and this not only
made a considerable local impact, but also attracted national attention, being featured by the BBC on their flagship digital station 6 Music.
Civilian are currently in Sawmills Studios recording follow-up material and will release their second EP in the Spring. They have been playing some good
venues in recent months, their last two outings being memorable performances at the Concorde 2 and the Komedia in Brighton.
They will be playing at the Clapham Grand in early May with labelmates The Oracle.
