The Band Sam Travis - Lead Vocals Kyle Molleson - Guitar Tom Howe - Guitar/Vocals Adam Hutchings - Bass/Vocals Charlie Mclelland - Drums The Three Minute Heroes were born out of a number of young Dorchester based bands sometime ago now. After splits, arguments, musical differences and line up changes a group of five like-minded musicians emerged. The band have been writing together for 18 months now and after an initial struggle for a style in which all five members were comfortable playing in, their current approach to writing appeared, owing particularly to the bands in which they shared interest, most notably The Jam and The Clash, and more recently The Futureheads and The Ordinary Boys. The Three Minute Heroes wanted to create upbeat, lively and energetic music without losing melodic or lyrical focus and doing their best to tackle the issues surrounding them, and inspiring them to write. As the band became tighter musically and gained a decent amount of both original and covered material they began to gig around the local area at various events. During this time they found our own songs just as positively received as their range of covers and they continued to write songs, developing their style both instrumentally and lyrically. After a number of attempts at recording on a laptop at home, in bedrooms, living rooms, and a garage, with varying results the opportunity arose to record in a small studio in Scotland. The trip had been long anticipated, and with the songs ready to be recorded, the long summer holidays of 2006 became the ideal time for a trip to Edinburgh. After a week of recording, and generally have a good time in the midst of the Edinburgh festival and the atmosphere it created, the band had come away with the beginnings of some solid recordings. Late night jamming sessions had resulted in the creation of two more songs that were subsequently recorded: the band had also become a closer-knit group where their song writing processes were concerned. Having just completed recording the demo and with new songs in the works, the band is looking towards the future and ever altering the style which has provided them with their first collection of songs and a sound base to build from. .
